What-If Analyses

A truly fantastic characteristic of the Virtual Energy Audit is the What-If analysis. What if this or that was modified, what would be the results? One example is the calculation of how much electricity would be produced using a specific let-down stream that originally produced no economic benefit. From actual hourly production records, a baseline of plant operational data allowed hourly calculation of the let-down stream. Coupling these data against the operational curve of a steam turbine generator, the corresponding hourly electrical resulted. Summing up the calculation results produced the representative electrical generation along with calculations of utilization rate for the system, allowing for a much more informed decision process to purchase the system.
